n.b. NFCB Webmail Logon: www.webmail.nfcb.co.uk

The team behind the Broadband4Lyndhurst & the Broadband4Cadnam campaigns have joined forces to create New Forest Community Broadband Ltd, a local community-based broadband organisation, known as NFCB.

NFCB was the first to bring broadband to Lyndhurst, exclusively supplying the business broadband service which has been installed for them there, before BT Wholesale “activated” Lyndhurst.

By buying in bulk, by taking on the local sales task, and by committing to a significant level of business in the New Forest, NFCB has been able to get more than 20% off the standard individual home & business user pricing, and we’ve been able to include more features in our standard packages, currently being:-

These packages are built on services provided by a business-orientated ISP, so we also can resell their full range of professional Internet, Voice-over-IP and hosting services, and services from others, which we can integrate according to your needs.

As a community-based broadband organisation, we’re also committing to deliver exclusive community-orientated features for NFCB subscribers, our first being wireless broadband access for NFCB subscribers while you’re in Lyndhurst High St, and more in planning, like traffic webcams in our key bottlenecks!

In addition to value packages rich with features and local exclusives, we are making local computing and network expertise available to you in a way that national ISPs couldn’t hope to. For those of you who don’t want to save money by looking after your own networks, NFCB associates will be able to install and maintain your LANs and connections for you.

NFCB offers its packages outside the Cadnam & Lyndhurst exchange areas, but will focus on the New Forest area, for the provision of better connectivity services for our communities. We know there will be many upgrade cycles, and it will require continuous campaigning pressure if we are not to fall way behind larger cities and towns again. NFCB means to continue to spearhead that campaign for our area.

NFCB offers a range of packages focussed at each user segment. We know it’s hard for most people to understand what “contention ratios” and Kbps really mean in use, whether “fixed IPs” and domain registrations are useful, and how to use them, so we’ve designed a set of packages which are focussed on individual user types. We hope this makes the decisions easier for you.

Our services are provided wires-only by default, though we will recommend hardware for you to purchase, or we can supply some to you, and even install it at your site, at extra cost, of course!

We will absorb all our setup costs, but BT Wholesale charges us £40+vat for each installation, and we must pass that on to you. If you start low, and at a later time decide to switch between connection speeds & add multi-user packs, BT Wholesale again charge a switch-over fee, generally only of £11+vat, but which we must pass on.

If you are a computing professional, and would consider working with us to bring better connectivity to our area, or bring our packages to your customers, please do contact us about this. We also want to work with clubs, teams, schools, or any sizeable group. Given the mix of what you may order, we would work to give your organisation suitable discounts on its own connectivity needs.
